Prominent Melbourne interior designer Stuart Rattle, who has worked with many of Melbourne’s elite, was quoted as saying, “De rigueur [for] a luxury house is a butler’s pantry or kitchen; you need a cinema room, you need huge walk-in robes, preferably one each. If you’ve got enough space, his and hers bathrooms are nice. And you’ve got to have a lift. Even if they only have one floor. Everybody is panicking that they won’t be able to walk at some stage.”
