THE FOUR level home was originally designed with a centrally located dumbwaiter in mind. Somehow it never happened but the void created for it was a challenge for many elevator companies to fit an elevator into such a small area – and to work around the steel columns.
With our size to suit technology, this presented us a perfect opportunity to fit in an E1 and glass shaft with a cabin size of 860mm (33.8″) wide x 1050mm (41.3″) deep. With maximum glass on the cabin, doors and shaft, the compact cabin size still felt spacious and the striking black shaft worked beautifully with the color scheme of the rest of the home.
