WORKING ONCE again with the City of Boroondara, Lift Shop supplied an eye-catching solution based on the same successful design concept previously used at Kew Recreation Centre. Namely, a 2 stop single entry Supermec with glass cabin and powdercoated steel and glass shaft. In this case the doors were solid similinox skinplate for a striking contrast with the black shaft.
Having both a glass shaft and cabin provides users with an unrestricted and open feeling whilst also giving Centre management excellent security observation. The wraparound timber staircase has also been complimented by the timber cap at the top of the shaft to blend it all together.
To accommodate the location of the shaft, we worked with the builders and engineers to incorporate stylish structural bracing to ensure adequate stability was in place.
