DUE TO a heritage listing on the original workers cottage, the renovations and extensions to this property in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley provided a great opportunity to combine the old with the new.
With the new floor plan adding several floors, the need for a lift was seen as a critical practical element. With a sized to suit design, the 1200mm wide x 1000mm deep opposite through car Supermec was fitted out with an emphasis on brushed stainless steel and full size clear glass panels, including in the doors and one cabin wall. The owners laid their own dark stained timber floors to pick up on the heritage background character of the home.
And as a the final ultra modern touch, large full size silver floor destinations were painted on the insides of the shaft walls to let the owners know they had definitely arrived.
