IT’S ALWAYS exciting to see new concepts in the building form and this new home did not disappoint. With a centrally located decorative render finished round shaft with wraparound staircase, the custom decorated E2 elevator fitted in beautifully.
With a complete supply of galvanized finishes, the owner/builder had the cabin and landing doors powdercoated to match the home’s interiors whilst the cabin was fitted with polyurethane panelling and full size rear wall mirror. The bleached ash timber floorboards in the cabin provided perfect continuity with the entry level surrounds.
The excess shaft space offered by this design allowed for air-conditioning ducting to be conveniently run to all levels of the home – note that any services inside an elevator shaft must be separately partitioned and accessible from outside the shaft only.
The owner loved the elevator so much, he bought two at the same time. What a great outcome.
