CUTTING EDGE,  the award winning creative post production house for the film and television industry recently decided it was time to add an elevator to their funky West End offices. The main goal of this lift was to address the wheelchair access problem but when looking at the many finishing options available, the Cutting Edge team were faced with a new dilemma…the design. With a team who pride themselves on their cutting edge style and creative flair it was not surprising they had definite ideas of what they wanted from the Lift.

The primary desire was to create a lift with a minimalist design which would match the understated and effortlessly cool decor of the office. With an office space which has been compared to the creature comfort Google offices, Lift shop rose to the challenge providing a lift which reflected its surroundings. To create the preferred look our FreedomLift and glass shaft were chosen, featuring anodised aluminium doors and shaft with clear glass panels while the inside boasts maximum glass cabin walls and operating panels on both side walls for compliance. As the primary use of the lift is for wheel chair access, a ramp was included on the ground floor to allow the site to meet the minimum 100mm pit requirement for the lift installation, without needing any costly excavation.
