WITH A track record of 4 lifts already installed for this builder, he didn’t need to look any further when it came to the renovation of this heritage listed terrace in Balmain.
A dominant theme of black and white in the home was also carried through to the lift car with a black glass wall on one cabin wall and black flooring carpet – the rest of the car and the doors were finished in brushed stainless steel to give a modern contrast to the rest of the unique property. To make the most of the original features of the home, one full glass cabin wall was included to provide observation of the characteristic sandstone wall (inclusive of a decorative nook with artwork).
And finally, to accommodate access to a divided section of the lower floor, through car entry with doors on both sides was provided.
A great example of blending the old with the new.
